Dr. Manikprabhu Dhanorkar is heading SCWRM since February, 2017. He completed his masters (1995) from Mahatma Phule Agricultural University, Rahuri and doctorate from Department of Botany, University of Pune, India in 2004. While pursuing his Ph.D and thereafter, he worked for almost 14 years (1996 to 2010) for Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India projects on developing world class Encyclopedias on Fertilizers and Pesticides. After successful completion of the projects and handing over of World’s first ‘Fertilizer Encyclopedia’ to the Hon’ble President of India, he joined industry to commission India’s first ‘Technology Demonstration Project’ for commercialization of biomethanation under BGFP scheme of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt of India. During his industry tenure of about 7 years (2010 to 2017), his key achievements include

• development of a business model by integrating indigenous technologies for commercialization of biomethanation
• Inputs for development of BIS standards for biogas (IS 16087: 2013) and
• development of new fertilizer formulations from biogas digestate for sustainability of biogas projects, giving new dimensions to biomethanation technology as an alternative and potential tool of renewable, green energy.
